INTENSE was born in the golden era of U.S. mountain biking—the mid-90s NORBA days, when legends like Shaun Palmer, Leigh Donovan, and Michael Ronning turned the original M1 into an icon. Then came Chris Kovarik, dominating World Cups and setting a record-winning margin that still stands today.
From the M3 to the M9 and now the reborn M1, we’ve always pushed the limits of downhill design. But through all the tech and titles, it’s the people who make this team special.
Racers, mechanics, and die-hard dreamers—INTENSE Factory Racing is a high-speed family. We’ve got grit in our roots and fire in the tank. Today, we’re still here—ready to write the next chapter with an exciting team that’s hungry to send it.

MEET THE M1
The M1 features two rear travel settings—203mm of linear travel for speed and sensitivity, or 212mm of progressive travel for more aggressive terrain—all built on our proven 6-link suspension platform. This adjustability allows the team to fine-tune the setup for the unique demands of each track.
Designed around a 279 mullet wheel configuration and refined on the World Cup circuit, the M1 has been meticulously developed by INTENSE engineers and the Factory Racing team with one goal in mind: to be the fastest downhill bike on the mountain.
